QuestionI had an abortion on April 2nd 2011. The surgeon knew going in I was about 8 weeks pregnant and had previously had my tubes tied a year prior. upon waking for the procedure I notice very little bleeding and that a shot of some sort was given to me on my back side. I was told that due to scarring from tubal they performed the full abortion plus gave me a shot for a chemical abortion. The problem is I still have all the pregnancy symptoms. I physically feel pregnant. Is this possible? I'm weary and still very sick. The doctor's office said its a side effect of the shot. Its been 8 days, and I'm still miserable with nausea, vomiting, and extreme fatigue
AnswerThe shot was symptoms.
Common side effects of methotrexate treatment include:
1. Abdominal pain. Cramping abdominal pain is the most common side effect, and it usually occurs during the first 2 to 3 days of treatment.
2. Vaginal bleeding or spotting.
3. Nausea, vomiting, and indigestion.
4. Fatigue, lightheadedness, or dizziness.
The symptoms last a few days.
