Its been 4 weeks. period has not resume.
what could be the reason for the delayed cycle?
AnswerHello, Jamie,
You didn't say what kind of abortion you had. That's important. However, looking at the dates you gave me, I can safely assume some things. You are very unlikely to have been fertile only 4 days after an abortion, so that rules out pregnancy from the 5th. If you became pregnant on the 27th, then you would have been 14 days away from your period, approximately, not two days. That is, if you assume you were fertile on the 27th, which is a possibility. Abortion disrupts a woman's cycle, so there is no telling now long it will be until your next period. Abortion is the reason for the delayed cycle.
I can also tell you this: if you keep on having sex, you will get pregnant again eventually. Using "protection" won't help much. If you want to be free of the fear of pregnancy, you need to stop having sex. If you are married, it will be helpful if you learn to tell when you are fertile. But if you are not married, sex isn't appropriate. Please give this some serious thought.
It is unlikely you are pregnant from the first sex, and you wouldn't be due to have a period from the second sex for 11-17 days afterward (this allows for three days of being fertile, on either side of the ovulation day). If you don't have a period by the 15th of April, then you could test in a week to see if you got pregnant after the second sex. But you wouldn't expect your period on the 29th if you were fertile on the 27th.
Only time will tell how your period will settle back into a pattern. It could be different from what it was before. So don't be surprised.
Please, no more abortions. They are very dangerous. Abortion damages a woman's body, and can harm her future children as well. You deserve better. Please take care of yourself, and stay safe.
