Massage Therapy and Schizophrenia: Potential Benefits & Concerns

My boyfriend was diagnosed with schizophrenia about a year ago.  We have been having some problems lately with his medication dosage.  He takes his medicine everyday, but sometimes it doesnt seem to be working.  I have been doing massage for two years now, and I was wondering if giving him massages would help or make him worse? If you have any information for me i would really apprieciate it.  Thank you

Hi Erika,

You're getting into a great unwashed area... it's possible that it may help him (maybe a great deal!) but it could also be fairly ineffective... so I'd have to pass on a comment.  Without doing research on it myself I wouldn't be able to spout anything more than conjecture... but do let me know, as I'm quite interested in that myself!
