Persistent Shoulder Blade Knot & Tension: Causes & Relief
QuestionI have a persistent "knot" that develops on a regular (re:daily) basis. It comes when I am concentrating on something for a long period of time as well as repetitive work like sweeping large areas or washing dishes but also when at the computer. This condition predates the tension that has developed along with my computer work. The "knot" is basically inside my right shoulder blade and stretches to my spine area just up to the base of the neck. Also the tension persists for so long that eventually the "knot" starts to burn as a muscle does with a lactic acid build up during weight lifting only it only ends some time after I have stopped the effort that caused it.
Any thoughts?
John
AnswerHi John,
Ok so "knots" do not develop on a daily basis. What happens is that over time tension develops and the longer you don't do anything about it the longer that it will remain. If you don't stretch or take breaks from the computer then things do get worse because the less mobile you are the greater the chance is that your body will tense up.
