Questioni have seen wrap kit in argos is it easy to use do you recomend it for someone who has never used one befor i would be gratefull for your advice thankyou
AnswerHi
There are available in pharmacies: wrap kits, liquid and powder 'acrylic' kits, and dip kits...
For someone untrained, they are NOT easy to use. In addition, if you're not familiar with possible risks to the natural nails, biology and nail diseases and infections, overexposure, etc; then you run the risk of doing damage to yourself.
I know 'some' have thought it looks easy... But a great many hours of training and a good investment of money is what makes good techs.
I myself at one time, prior to my nail courses thought it was 'easy'. I used a dip kit and eeks.. Granted, I had my DEP cosmetology and knew all I needed to know to avoid infections and such.... it still was much more difficult to manage than I thought. I removed many sets (in a damaging fashion) immediately after application because the job I did was so horrendous. Later I took a course.. what a difference that made.. but even then.. it took MUCH practice to be halfway good and not get lifting or breakage. Not to mention: pharmacy products are simply NOT of the same calibre/quality as professional products. They do not have the same strength. And you must also consider that if you're untrained, you run the risk of getting 'overexposure' from not being aware of what needs to be done and 'how' and if you get that, you'll never be able to wear enhancements again. It'll turn into an allergic reaction, to simply put it.
Although it looks like a 'good deal' and like you're saving a lot of money, in the end, you're not.
If you're really in a budget crunch and really want artificial nails, my advice would be to purchase those tips that cover the entire nail. Apply them and when they grow out, use either pure acetone or 'nail tip & glue remover' and soak them off. The next day, apply a new set (not before as the nails will be 'swollen' from having absorbed some liquid and the next set won't adhere as well).
Another option: take a course yourself. Then, not only can you do your nails, you can make a few dollars in your spare time doing those of friends and family.
