QuestionHi,
I have strong and healthy natural nails. I have an active lifestyle including weightlifting, sweating, and using lots of antibacterial emollient (I work at a hospital that requires it). I can't keep nail polish (especially french)on for more than 3-5 days at a time without it chipping, peeling, or cracking despite salon-quality products at home or a professional manicure in the salon. I've been told my natural oil is to blame and that going gel may help. Is this a good option? I don't want any length, and wouldn't want to come in any more than 2.5-3 weeks or so. Thoughts?
AnswerA gel overlay is actually an excellent option- BUT, make sure your salon and your tech are top notch, and using high quality products- if you need a referral- shoot me an e-mail.
Gel is non porous and solvent proof, and can be applied in color or a french, and as an overlay you can get them rebalanced every 3 weeks with no problems.
And EVERYONE, except for the 3% of people with dry nails that seem to wear EVERYTHING well, has a problem keeping polish on their natural nails, so you are not alone :)
