UV Gel Overlay on Natural Nails: Safety, Longevity & FAQs
QuestionHi, I have a question about UV Gel Overlay being done on the natural nail. I am a 23-year old male and am looking for a way to have a long lasting glossy manicure. Do you think it would be a good idea for me to get a UV Gel Overlay on my natural fingernail in an effort to keep my fingers perfectly manicured and shiney so I won't have to keep getting a manicure every week to keep my nails looking perfect? Is it safe? Is there any pain involved? Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you!
AnswerHi Steve. Hope you had a great holiday!
This is a great option for you. Gel is flexible and stays super shiny and is thin. It is safe. It is applied like a polish(painted on)and then cured using a UV Light. No pain although sometimes depending on the system used there can be a slight warming discomfort like a pins and needles sensation which can be eliminated by lightly tapping the pads of your finger tips very slightly while under the light. I say this would be fantastic for you. Also if your not sure you want to commit to this. Try a uv topcoat during your next manicure. The uv topcoat is super durable is cured using the light but not as durable as the gel. If you like the topcoat you will love the gel.
Good Luck
