QuestionI had solar nails put on that seem to lift fast. When I went in to fix them the technician cut me pretty bad. I have a very high pain tolerance, but my nail really hurts. She grinded some of my nail beds.. they are currently red but are not burning any more. The cut is really hurting. Is there a chance she ruined my nail??? Will it heal. How many days of pain would be normal??? I'm most worried about what will happen to my nail
AnswerMost likely it will heal. A lot will depend on if the cut is actually on the skin surrounding the nail or if it goes through the nail itself. If the cut is through the nail itself, it will depend on whether or not the nail matrix was damaged.
The nail matrix is the area where the nail is formed before it grows out from under the cutilce area. If the matrix is damaged, the nail may never be the same again.
Your nails will most likely remain sore for several days. Treat the cut just as you would normally treat any cut you get. Clean it well with Bactine or Hydrogen Peroxide and keep a bandaid or liquid bandage on it. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected.
You may want to check your state's licensing board about filing a report on the incident so your state can check out the salon and make sure everything there is up to regulation and that this isn't a normal occurrence in that salon.
