Gel Nails vs. Bio Sculpture: What's the Difference & Which is Best?

Question
I have a question regarding what the  difference between Bio sculpture nails and gel nails.  I recently got bio sculpture nails and love them, but want to know if I get gels is that the same?  They sell gel nails all over ebay and wonder what is the "good stuff" vs. gimmicks.  You can even find bio sculpture on ebay.  Is bio sculpture that good?? Please any guidance

Answer
Bio Sculpture gel is a very good brand, but there are many other brands of gel products that are also very good. Unfortunately, from what I've seen, it seems that "Bio Sculpture" is taking on the same problem that "solar nails" has in the discount salon industry. Basically, it's become a common marketing term for any kind of gel nails. Just like "solar nails" is used to mean any pink and white nails-- not the actual brand "Solar Nails" that is produced by CND.

There are several different brands of gel products, and you may like some better than others, but if you like Biosculpture, you'll probably like most gels. JUST MAKE SURE that you get REAL gel nails! There are a LOT of salons out there scamming the public by charging higher prices for what they call "gels" but what they are really doing is acrylic. Gel nails are made of multiple layers of gel (honey-like liquid) that must be cured under a UV light after each layer. Gel is NEVER a powder-- no matter what the label on the jar says!

I would definitely stick with brand name Biosculpture gels from a reputable supplier over anything from Ebay, since you never know how old product bought through Ebay might be, how it was stored, or even whether the product is what the label claims.
