QuestionHi, I apply my own get nails and have done for years. Recently I bought a new brand of gel and had no issues for several months. Currently every time I apply the gel system, after a couple of days, the gel overlay shatters and cracks until small pieces begin to fall off. I am not sure what could be causing this problem, I have tried purchasing new products which has not helped either.

Shattering of product will be caused by one of two things:
1. over curing. your lamp may not be compatible to the new products, most systems work better with their own lamps.
2. Old product. gel products only have an average of 1yr shelf life from manufacture, not once they reach where you purchased them from, but from the factory where they are made.
As much as i appreciate that you have done a fine job on doing your own nails, it is insufficient info on manufactures guarentees etc that is the down side of not buying from a professional source.
