QuestionI've looked browsed through read some of your previous answers and already I feel much more informed! I've gathered that "solar", "pink & white", and "acrylic" are all basically the same thing; they use a liquid and powder over a nail tip. So why is there such a big difference in price?(I always thought that there was some great difference between the 3. I've been being scammed.) It seems also that maybe the silk wraps and gels are a better quality product. Is that correct? . . and if so, what is the difference? what are the benefits of gel and silk wrap nails? How much should I expect to pay, and how long should they last?
AnswerHi Shindy,
Ok let's talk nails! Acrylic is Acrylic no matter what name they give it!Some salons take advantage of clients it's not very professional and somehow they get away with it.
On to Silk wraps, Silk is as it sound a piece of silk that combined with a glue or gel cover the nail for strength.Silk is not a very strong product but it works great for natural nail repairs.
Gel is also as it sounds it is a product in a gel consistency that needs to be cured under a UV lamp.
Cost wise this is how pricing should be:
Acrylic should be the cheapest starting around $35 and up from there
Silk should be next in line starting around $40 and up from there
Gel would be next starting at around $45-$50 and up from there
Hope this helps Good Luck!
