Gel Forever French Nails: Maintenance Tips & Troubleshooting | Amber

Question
QUESTION: Hi Amber,

I just recently (1 week ago) got a new set of gel forever french using Creative nail products and wanted to know your advice on upkeep. I'm a little picky when it comes to my nails and I always like them to look perfect but I know with this type you're only supposed to get a fill once every 2 weeks. Please provide your advice on how to maintain. And second, it appears inevitable that the base of the gel (near the cuticle) where it starts to grow out, it sometimes appears that it's lifting. Is this normal? There's no actual lifting occuring, it just looks like it in bright light. Please let me know if this is normal and if not, what is the problem and how do I fix it? Thank you!

ANSWER: Hi Jennifer,

Not all gel are created equal! If you want that perfect
look all the time you might want to think about weekly visits
to the salon. First week is your fill the next week just a buff and seal!
This will keep them looking fresh and new all the time!
Now fir the lifting they should not look like that maybe after 2-3 weeks
you might get a small amount of lifting here or there but not after you get them done
creative is newer on the market so I don't feel they have worked
out all the kinks! I wear and use gel and never have the issues with the products
I use!

Look up some of these other lines. To see all the gels avaable and the differences
LCN
Bio sculpt
En Vogue

all are also very good gel products!

Good luck!

QUESTION: Amber,

Thank you very much for the quick response. I appreciate your insight. Is there anything else I can do to maintain the new look without having to visit the salon every week? It appears that only one nail looks like the edge could be lifting but I am a bit rough on my nails. Other than that, the other 10 still look good. I would like to not have to visit the salon every week as it can get very expensive and time consuming. Please let me know when you have a moment. Thanks again!

Answer
Hi, the best thing for you to do at home is nothing!
Reason being the more you mess with them the more problems you
will encounter! The last product applied is a sealer it seals in
everything once the seal is broken you could get lifting
or breaking it sounds to me like that one nail needs some
fixing you don't want water to get trapped underneath if it is lifted!
If you have a good tech all you need to do is enjoy your nails and maintane them
every 2 weeks! That should be more than enough!

Good luck
