Wedding Day Makeup: Preventing and Covering Redness

Question
QUESTION: Hello!! I have a wedding coming up and i have a problem with my face turning red at the slightest reason. I would really hate to have red'faced pictures from the wedding, is there any products or tips I can use to cover up the possible redness?

Thank you

ANSWER: Hello and Congratulations!:) It's a very exciting time in your life and it would be my pleasure to help you!
As I do with all my clients, I need to ask a few questions to understand what is happening with your skin.
Are you under stress? (Probably a bit?) That is very normal and if so it will show up on your skin
Also, (very important) are you drinking up to 8 glasses of water daily? Can you tell me in summary of your diet? Eating lots of fruits, veggies and nuts ( almonds are high in Vitamin E which are wonderful for your skin)
Do you blush easily? Do you have tiny visible red veins on your face?
Would you consider your skin oily or dry?
I look forward to your reply-

Elaine

QUESTION: Thank you for a fast reply!

I guess the reason I turn red is that because I blush easily. It's nothing abnormal with my skin, just easy to get me blushing... And I can be embarrassed very easily and the blush will occur as well. I am not sure if I do drink so much water, maybe 5 glasses, I do eat veggies and fruits everyday. I would consider my skin type being rather dry than oily, especially during winter. I do have tiny visible red veins on my face. I would be looking for a make up that will cover that blush that might appear. Something more than a regular foundation, bc the redness is still visible thru the foundation.

Thank you so much for your help!!

Looking forward to hear from you

Tanya

ANSWER: Hi Tanya! :)

How nice that you have a natural blush to your skin!

I'm happy to read that you drink water and eat well.

From what I am gathering from your answer - you may have rosacea. Don't worry though! I have many clients with this condition. The following is the advise I give and some solutions.

A few more questions:

Do you use a moisturizer? Which one? and which makeup are you using now if any?

Let's start with your diet.
- I'd like to advise that you start what is called an anti inflammatory diet which includes fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, drinking water, whole foods.
- Add orange vegetables such as sweet potato, carrots which have Vitamin A - amazing for your skin's health :)
- Introduce Kale into your diet. High in Vitamin A and C - also has lutein that makes the whites of eyes look brighter :)
- Stay away from starches and sugars.. I know it's a bit tough to do but once you see your skin clearing - you'll be thrilled! :)

Skincare solutions:
There are many creams, foundations out there!
Here a few you can try:
- Clarins Skin Beauty Repair for Sensitive Skin
- Dr Perricone Hydrating Nutrient Mask
these moisturizers are wonderful and soothing!
One of my favorite lines are MURAD. You can also try the Redness Therapy Regimen as well as the Correcting Moisturizer.

For Makeup:

Mineral makeup is best for correcting redness in your skin.
Also, Dr Perricone has a foundation called NO FOUNDATION Foundation which corrects skin undertones.

Tanya, when you combine good internal health, a good skin regime and great makeup- your wedding pictures will be amazing!

I'm more than happy to go into further detail about all the information I've written here.

When is your wedding btw?

Look forward to your reply :)

Warmly,
Elaine :)
