There are many reasons why our skin may change so please don't feel guilty or uncomfortable. Obviously, I do not know your personal circumstances so I can only offer the most general of advice but, hopefully, if you try some of my recommendations, your skin will be more, as you would like it to be.
The first thing to look at is your diet. Please drink lots of fresh water and eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as you can.
The second is a good cleansing routine for your skin. Please choose a facial wash or cleanser rather than using conventional hand soap and perhaps use a little witch-hazel on some cotton wool after cleaning your skin to help unblock the skin and keep it fresh.
It's important to leave make-up off your skin when you can, so anytime you are alone at home an at night, make sure your skin is clean of make-up but when you are with your friends you may feel more confident if you use either a concealer or some foundation to help to make your skin look more even. You need to choose one that suits your skin tones. It's best to get advice from the shop's staff if you can.
Please don't feel in anyway ashamed of your skin. I'm sure your friends don't mean to be unkind but I know sometimes these sorts of things can be unsettling. Please think of the beautiful things about you, your eyes, your hair, your hands, your clothes and focus on those as well as your skin as things can seem much worse than they really are sometimes.
