Best Wax for Thinner Hair Regrowth: A Comprehensive Guide

Question
I've tried a lot of different types of wax and I've been to many salons who use different types of wax. I realize that some waxes work better than others and some even make my hair grow back thinner than other ones. Can some waxes really make the hair grow back thinner than other waxes or is the way the person waxes that makes the difference? also, i was wondering, what do you think is the best wax brand? i really want to use a wax that can make my hair grow back thinner since i have very coarse hair. thank you so much for any help!

Answer
Hi there Veronica, to be truthful, I think as long as it is a wax specifically for the purpose of hair removal, there isn't too much to choose between them.  I think what makes a difference though is the temperature and pressure when applying the strips.

If the wax isn't warm enough then it won't work.  It has to be just a little under what you can bare where it feels slightly uncomfortable but not enough to actually hurt.  This allows the wax to really grab hold of the hairs as it cools.

Next is the pressure.  The strips must be pressed down well before being briskly ripped off.  The removing must be quick and certain as any gentle tugging will lead to the strips coming away without the wax or hair.   For this reason I find a beauty therapist better than trying this myself as I tend to be more cowardly with myself.

You could also try the hair removal creams occasionally to see if they help to break down the growth of hair which might make it easier next time you choose to wax.  Different methods work for different people.

I hope that helps.

Take care, Claire x
