QuestionI have been eating ground whole flaxseed, a teaspoon at a time, and it doesn't bother me to eat it like this, but I heard that you are supposed to grind it up before eating it. Is it more nutririous to grind it up, or can you get the same benefit by eating the seed whole?
Thank you.
AnswerHi Susan,
To derive the most nutritional benefits, ground flaxseed is generally recommended over whole seeds. The whole seeds are difficult for the body to break down and often pass through the body undigested, thus taking most of the nutrients with them!
Hope that helps!
