Melting Down Old Jewelry: Finding a Skilled Goldsmith

I have some old broken Jewelry that I want to have melted down and made into something special for gift for my husband for our 5th wedding anniversary. Do you have any recommendations on where to go. I have no idea on where to begin to look. Thank you.

Hello Dawn,
I would suggest a Goldsmith,rather than a Retail Jeweler.Unless a Jewelry Store has an ONSIGHT Goldsmith that you can speak to.Many times,your original wishes,go from a salesclerk,to manager,to outside shop foreman,to Jeweler.Anything and everything can be misinterpreted.Look up Goldsmith in local area,and make sure their work is done on the premises.
