Diamond Weight: Understanding Millimeters vs. Carat Weight

Noone seems to be able to answer this simple question.  What does 2mm diamond equal to in carat weight?  A full chart example would be jice.  Thank you..also a 2.5mm diamond=to carat weight.  Carol

It depends on the cut and  quality of the stone.If it has inclusions it will weigh more than  if it  is internally flawless, or   in some instances  of  inclusions being graphite  it is less than average  Total carat weight.So if you tell me the  cut clarity and  colour of the diamond I will be able to give you a more  definitive answer. There is  also a difference if the stone is machine cut or handcut, so  no melee diamond  (small stones are referred to as melee) is going to weigh exactly the same. I will also look for a chart ( as I know I have one lying around somewhere and a formula that you can use to  calculate the  stone weights of all your gems..).
