Why is Sterling Silver Staining After Ultrasonic Cleaning?

I have a Rio Grande Ultrasonic Cleaner and using an ammoniated ultrasonic cleaner.  However, some sterling silver items after being placed in the cleaner stainless steel basket for 4 minutes come out stained a light golden yellow color.  What causes this?

Madonna, Whatare the ingredients in the  ammoniadted cleaner  and are you using distilled water? Lots of chemicals in cleaners and city water can cause electrical plating in an ultrasonic, as well as not rinsing the jewelry properly if it comes from a pickling solution . Just a tiny amount of pickling solution in an ultrasonic can taint it, like getting steel tweezers into your pickle will cause it to plate silver .

Clean your ultrasonic  well with baking soda, use only distilled water with liquid ammonia,(we used Parson's ) it had the highest concentration for the least amount of money, and make sure that you rinse your items thoroughly when you remove them from the pickling solution . If these steps don't solve your problem let me know.
