Eisenberg & Sons Sterling Silver Leopard Pin - Vintage Jewelry Appraisal

Question
I have a sterling silver leopard pin made by Eisenberg & Sons Origanal.  It is about 4 and one forth inches inches long and 1 and one forth inches wide at it's widest point. It was purchased by my Mother, sometime in the early 40's.  When new the dimples representing the spots were enameled green, most of the green has warn off.  The open mouth has red enamel in it. There is a green stone in the eye and diamond like stones under the chin, along the inside of both front legs and along the lower side of the one partial back leg. Can you tell me the current value of this item?

Answer
Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like you have a beautiful piece of jewelry ! Eisenberg jewelry is well known quality and collectibility especially for their figural designs.

However, it would be difficult for me to give you a value for your item without a photo or careful personal examination. You can, however check with a few of the online appraisal sites listed below.
Just copy and paste each into your browser address field and hit enter.
1.  http://www.appraiseitnet.com/
2.  http://www.wiw2u.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=wiw2u.home&LANG=e
3.  http://www.1earth.com.au/collect/appraisal_services.html

Another good place to research market values are the online auctions such as eBay, Yahoo and Amazon. Just enter your item name into the auction search field.

You can also input Eisenberg into your browser search field and pull up quite a few sites that are currently listing jewelry from this designer.

Your local library and book store will have books on costume jewelry that will include Eisenberg and some will give valuations. However, remember that those valuations fluctuate almost daily depending on demand, rarity and condition is always a factor.

Hope this helps and good luck !
