Why Did My Gold Jewelry Turn Copper? - Causes & Solutions

I have a 10k gold necklace, and wore it into a hot tub for a while. Then later, my boyfriend noticed that the necklace had turned a copper color! What happened? And is there a way that I can fix the color back to gold? Please help if you can, the necklace is very special to me.

Hmmm. Not really sure. Try a mild jewelry cleaner. Normally gold does not do that - even in water. Could be a reaction to the chemicals. If the cleanre doesn't work, take it in to a jeweler.
