QuestionHi, I found one at a pawn shop, and I've looked around online for anything even close, and it seems like it's a special one.
Only three small pieces of turquoise in the Naja, but the beads are very well made and heavy, not thin sheet blossoms like what I've come across in my research. There is no marking on it, and the woman who sold it said she got it pre-1940. Do you have any expertise on these? It's reaaaallly niiiiiiice. Thanks for your time!
Terry
AnswerHello Terry and thank you for your inquiry. Without seeing the necklace it is difficult for me to give any opinion and I am not an expert on this type of jewelry. I do know they are very collectible, especially the older ones. Here is a site that may interest you as they have a good selection of styles. There are numerous books available on Native American jewelry and certain designs are directly related to particular tribes so you may be able to find something similar. Check your local library or online at amazon.com for Native American jewelry.
Hope this helps and enjoy !
