Identifying PL-10K Plating on a Necklace: Expert Analysis

Question

the stamps (PL-10K)
hello Les
I have attached the clearest picture I could manage.  the stamps are on the piece of metal that clips inside the fastener and the necklace is not discoloured / tarnished at all.
thank you
Ellie

Answer
From what I can see, the bracelet seems to be 10kt Plated, It is not a familiar mark to us in the industry and appears to be more of a coutume type jewelry, the links are not soldered either from the picture. The best thing to do is take it to your local jeweler and just ask them to get their opinion, somestimes the weight and feel will be all that is needed. They can also scrape a small section and test it using aqua-regia , an acid test to see if it turns green. If it does turn green its not gold.

all the best
