Replacing Cubic Zirconia Stones: Options & Possibilities

Question
Hi, I purchased a CZ set in white gold about 2 years ago.  The stones have become quite cloudy.  Is there a way to have the stones replaced?  While I did not spend the thousands of dollars a diamond would have cost, this ring was not inexpensive. I love the setting, however, I am  not happy with the way the stones look now.  Is there anything I can do?  Is it even possible to have the CZ's replaced with a real stone?  Thank you in advance for your time.

Answer
Hi Stephanie and thanks for your question!  You might consider having the stones replaced with white sapphire as these are colorless like CZ, very hard and durable, and will last your lifetime very likely with little or no signs of wear.  Some colored stone suppliers online carry these stones if your local jeweler can not order them for you.

You might also consider replacing them with CZ- I wonder if the original stones were indeed cubic zirconia? It is very hard for me to say what they are without seeing them in person and running some tests.  Typically CZ's last for a long time with little signs of wear.

Thanks for your question!
