Decoding Vintage Ring Symbols: Understanding Star & Number Markings

My boyfriend bought me a vintage engagement ring and it has a star with a 2 in it on the inside of the band. I was wondering if you could tell me what the symbol means?

Hello Angela and thank you for your inquiry. The star inside your ring is probably the manufacturer and the 2 may be a design number. There are quite a few manufacturers that used the star logo and unless there is more information, it would be difficult to determine which one is the maker.
