Gemstone Appraisal for Homeowner's Insurance: Get an Estimate

Question
Hi there,  Thank God for someone like you who might potentially help. I've 6 gemstones, loose ones which were given to us by a Jeweler in Oman whom my husband was friends with. I don't think they are terribly valuable, but I need some estimate so I can add them to my homeowner's database with the rest of my jewelry.  I'll describe best I can (all gemstones are nearly flawless and appear flawless to naked eye and I'd like a carat and price estimate):

Green Tourmaline, deep green, emerald cut, it measures 10mm x 11mm x 5mm thick

purple Amethyst, medium color, emerald cut, 13mm x 12 mm x 7-8 mm thick

Pear cut Amethyst, dark purple, it's 15mm high from point to bottom and 14 mm wide at widest point x 8mm thick

I have what appears to be a garnet pinkish color (Rhodolite?), cushion cut 12mm high x 8mm wide by 6mm hick

I have a Pear shape Pink Garnet (Rhodolite?) 12mm high x 9mm wide x 5mm thick

Im guessing the last one is a blue Topaz pretty light blue (not like the darker London blue but darker than a mid color aquamarine), cushion cut 12mm high x 9mm wide x 5mm thick

ANY help you might give would make my day!!!  God bless and thank you so much for your time.
based on that, hoping you can give me an estimate!

Answer
Hello,

I am so sorry, grading gem stones without seeing them live is near impossible.  You are right though, if they are what you say, they are not really costly to replace.

You should seek out a good gemologist who appraises stones for a living.
For insurance you would need a certificate from them.

Sorry I could not be of more help.
