Pietersite and Pyrex Coating: Understanding the Process & Concerns

I want to buy a piece of pietersite but it has been dipped in molten pyrex and I can not find any information about this process or what it is or how it is done can you help?

Hi,

I see no reason to buy a stone dipped in molten pyrex which is a special glass.  Go to e-bay and do a search for these.  I found many to choose from for not very much money.  Go to the loose gemstones for the search.
