QuestionQUESTION: I am to give a speech on pearls at the Collectors Club and am sure someone will ask how do experts drill holes in virgin pearls
specially since I will be discussing nuclea and the various intru-dors associated with cultured pearls. Drilling when the nuclea is a glass bead defies my explanations so how...........?

QUESTION: Hi Sally
Thank you for the link. That explains the natural pearl drill without a
nuclea. What about the pearls that have a glass or nacre centre? Are these
holed and then through magnifier the covering nacre drilled to allow the
threading of it into a necklace. It is more for me than the collectors who
will be listening to the talk.
The speech is due this wednesday and I hope I am ready for the all questions
that I am sure will be fired on that night.
