Omega Necklace Tilting Issue: Causes & Potential Fixes
QuestionMy wife has both a 16 inch and a 18 inch Omega necklce (both 8 mm wide). My wife is also wearing a silver dollar pendant on the necklaces. Unfortunately neither necklace will lay flat when the coin is attached. They have a tendency to flip or twist.
My thinking is that the problem lies with the two opposite ends of the necklaces where they are attached by a small flexible lobster type of clasp.
On the other hand if you eliminated the lobster clasp, and each end of the 8 mm necklace coupled directly with one another (male/female) style, this may prevent the twisting and promote flatness. However, I don't know where you would purchase this style of necklace anyway.
What is your opinion?
AnswerHi Wayne,
The flipping or twisting can be caused by 2 things. One could be that your wife's bone structure around her collar bone is such that the necklaces "hump" over them possibly or the silver dollar pendant is very heavy and will bring this cause you're experiencing also. Does the neclaces lay flat without the pendant? Let me know. Omega necklaces, are beautiful but they have historically had this flaw in the way they lay.
