Identifying Gold Tone Jewelry: Maker Mark & Gold Content

Hi,
the name on my necklace is "GENUINE" it is a goldtone twisted rope, is that the maker or that it is really gold?

Before being able to give you a definitive answer, I need to see images of the necklace.  At least one shot of the whole thing (clear, on a white or black background) and then a closeup of part of the necklace, then the clasp, then the mark.  Please make sure they are completely in focus and clear or I will not be able to tell much.

Off the top of my head and without research, I can say I have never heard of a jewelry manufacturing company called "Genuine".  There are literally tons of fashion jewelry being made and exported from the Far East every day.  It does sound like it may possibly be modern and an attempt to make buyers believe that the metal is indeed gold.  It seems unlikely but if you can let me know about provenance (where it came from, how long you have had it, etc) I may be able to tell you more.
