Understanding Pre-Menstrual Spotting and Potential Causes

hello,this last month before i got my period i spotted a brownish fluid with a foul oder for almost 2 weeks and the only thing i can think of that may caused that was i had sexually intercorse a couple days before it started,but it never happened before though.well hope you can help with my issue.thanks

this sounds like you may had an infection going on.about 5% of women will experience spotting-a light staining of blood-regularly with ovulation. the key to this harmless kind of spotting doctor say,is that it happens almost every month near the middle of your menstrual cycle. often this spotting is accompanied by mild pain on the right or left side of the abdomen.

however,in some women.lack of ovulation,which causes the uterine lining to grow thicker and then shed small areas of tissue at different times,may also be a cause of spotting.

if you are experiencing spotting that does not seen related to ovulation,there can be a variety of causes, including infections of the vagina,bladder,cervix or endometrium[uterine lining]. other possible causes include polyps,little fleshy growths in the uterus,cervical dysplasia,abnormal cells in the cervix.
also,this could be from the wrong birth-control or hormonal imbalances.

it would be best to see your doctor for a proper diagnosis,and treatment;
