Herbal Supplements & Pregnancy: Risks of Chasteberry (Vitex)

Question
Hi, I am 27 years old and am 7 months pregnant with my first child.  Prior to conceiving, my periods were very irregular.  After taking a pregnancy test that was negative (I was probably about a week pregnant, it just didn't register on the test), my doctor prescribed me Provera to induce my period.  When my period didn't come, I proceeded to take the herbal supplement Chasteberry (Vitex Agnus) for one week.  Should I be concerned that this was harmful to the fetus?

Answer
Other than ovarian hyperstimulation, it does not appear that Vitex causes fetal anomalies. HOwever, it is suggested that is should not be used during pregnancy nor during lactation. It does appear to lower milk production. I doubt that the amount that you used (one week in early pregnancy) will hurt/
