QuestionI'm 22 yrs old with no kids.
I thought I was pregnant in the month of february since I didn't get a period them but after 4 negative pregnancy tests, I concluded I wasn't. I visited my B/f for spring break from 03/21-03/27 and we had intercourse about 4 times. He used both condoms and the withdrawal method although the condom slipped off once. I then had a normal period starting March 29-april 1 with the heavy cramping etc. It was as far as I can tell a very normal period ,even a little bit more painful than usual. I subsequently started the pill the sunday after and have been on it since.
Right now, I feel very bloated, no tender breasts, tiredness etc. I do sometimes feel bit queesy but thats normally because I haven't eaten since it usually goes away with some juice.
Could the fact that I just started the pill 2 and half weeks ago explain these symtoms or is there a chance of me being pregnant?
also for the past 2 days, i've been getting pretty bad cramps which last about 30 sec but which imobilize me. I know I should take the pill with food but since I take it in the morning on my way to school, I usually don't. Could the cramps be a result of the pill as well?
AnswerIf you started your period March 29, you are not pregnant. If you started the pill, you would not have ovulated and, therefore, could not have become pregnant this month. The cramps are probably due to "middle of the montn pain" (mittelshmerz) which can often be felt around the time of ovulation, even if you are on the pill. If you have any doubts, if you do not get your period by April 25, wait an additional seven days and take a pregnancy test. However, I really doubt that you are pregnant.
