Pregnancy Nutrition: A Guide for Expectant Mothers
QuestionMy first daughter has just become pregnant [wonderful!], and after years of non-healthy eating, she's ready to listen. And for the first time in her life, she's suddenly ravenously hungry, every two hours.
She's an RN, on her feet and stressed at 12 hour hospital shifts in Orthopedics.
thanks!
AnswerHello Raya. One of the best sources for diet during pregnancy and lots of other issues in general is a book called Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way by Susan McCutcheon- order her a copy and you will never regret it. Also, get her signed up for Bradley prenatal classes- does not matter whether she is a nurse or not- she will only have learned the "medical model" of birth in training and she needs to hear another side of it. The Bradley Childbirth website can guide you with both the classes AND the book. You and she might also enjoy a site called BirthLove. All the best- Cheri.
