2cm Dilation at 37 Weeks: What to Expect Before Labor

i lost my plug tuesday nite my dr said at app. next day that i was two centermeters dailated its now thursday night how much longer till i go in to labor im 37 weeks

You can remain at 2cm until you go into labor and that can take another 3-5 weeks. If this is your first baby, you will be considered to be in labor when you start to have contractions, every 3 minutes, from the beginning of one contraction to the beginning of the next contraction (at the level of your belly button) and each contraction lasts for at least 45 seconds. If this continues for a full hour, you are in labor. YOu will be admitted to the hospital when you have reached 3-4 cm, but will not be in active labor until you reach 5cm, at which time you should progress one centimeter per hour until full dilatation, at which time you start pushing. For now, just relax and don't worry about when you will go into labor. Nothing is going to happen yet.
