MMR & Td Vaccines During Pregnancy: Risks & Safety - Expert Advice

Question
Hi,
I am 26 years old. This is my first pregnancy.I had my last period on April 27.I am on my 7 week of pregnancy. On May 22 I was given MMR & TD Vaccines along with my husband.I was told not to get pregnant for 4 weeks. But i was already pregnant when i was given the vaccines.I didn't know that time.I went to a gynocologist and she said its nothing to worry about. The baby will be fine. But the doctors who gave the vaccines said i might have to terminate the pregnancy.
My question is what should i do?I also wanted to get a second opinion. Please advice.
Thank you,
Nandita

Answer
Although we recommend that you do not become pregnant for one month after the MMR shot, we do not recommend terminating the pregnancy if you did get the shot. There has never been any case of congenital anomalies or detrimental effects to a fetus due to the MMR vaccine, even if it was inadvertently taken during pregnancy. There is no problem with the other vaccine, either. Don't worry.
