Understanding Leaking Amniotic Fluid & Fetal Size Concerns in Pregnancy

My friend is just now 7mths preg and was told her baby is too small and she is leaking amnioic fluid. She is very upset. I really do not know how serious this is can you help

The baby being small may not be too serious, depends on why.  The leaking of the fluid may be very serious. Normally once the water has been broke they like to have the baby delivered very fast in order to prevent infection.
If they try to keep the baby in she will probably have to be on bed rest in a hospital and given antibiotics.
I would need more information to say anything else.
