Pregnancy & Amusement Parks: Safety & Ride Guidelines

I am trying to decide on whether or not it is safe to go on roller coasters. I have already asked my doctor and they said just stay away form the real jerky and jarring rides. I went to the Kings dominion website and according to them you shouldnt ride anything. So i am torn i the middle right now. I am 9 weeks pregnant. I am a diabetic and have one child already. So I am considered high risk. I just want to make the best informed decision that I can.

I would avoid roller coasters and other rides where your balance may be in danger. The fact that you are diabetic is not an issue and you really are not in danger at 9 weeks gestational age. However, you do not want to expose yourself to the risk of injury or dizziness or problems causeed by jerkiness.
