QuestionMy granddaughter is going thru puberty. She will be 9 years old Oct, 21, 2004.
Can anything be done to stop the proccess?
AnswerIf your granddaughter is showing signs of puberty (pubic hair, breast buds, axillary hair, or start of a period, you should have her see an endocrinologist to rule out "precocious puberty". If it is determined that she is, indeed, having precocious puberty, it can be treated. If it is normal, nothing should be done about it.
