Post-Coital Spotting: Causes, Concerns, and When to See a Doctor

Hi!  I am 18 years old, and around 3 days ago while having sex, the condom fell off inside of me, so we immediatly stopped and took it out.  Right after, I began having really bad stomach / uterus pains (Could have been from trying a new position..) and it took 2.5 days for them to go away, now on the third day, Ive noticed a light spotting when I wipe myself when I go to the bathroom.  It's not like the blood from my period, either, and this has never happened before... any idea what could be wrong?

When was the first day of your last period, and when were you having sex when the condom fell off. If you normally have a 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. YOu can only become pregnant if you have unprotected sex on cycle days #13,14,15, or 16. You cannot become pregnant on any other day of the cycle. Blood can come from vigorous sex due to friction, or it can be due to a small scratch in the vagina. If it persists, make an appointment with your gynecologist. Condoms are only 85% effective. I would suggest using birth control pills or a diaphram. Good luck to you.  If you do not get your next period, wait seven days and take a pregnancy test.
