QuestionHello,
I am 22 weeks pregnant, we are expecting our 1st little boy Jan 1st and very excited about it!
My little guy is moving all of the time, so much that the ultrasound tech hard a difficult time taking the pictures needed because our little one just would not slow down.
My husband & I are so happy that he is this active, our concern is whether or not this will put him at a high risk of the cord wrapping around his neck? Is there anything I can do to make sure this doesn't happen?
A few weeks ago at my in-law's house my niece spilt some water on the floor, I squatted with my knees apart, moving slowly, held onto the table to brace myself and simply wiped it up. My mother in-law enters the room and starts freaking out, yelling at me that I'm smashing my baby's nose and I will cause the cord to wrap around his neck.
Now I know she is crazy. But is it possible that I could do something to cause this to happen?
AnswerHello Renee- some people have the craziest ideas don't they? Your mother in law is goofy. However, the hyperactivity is of some concern re the cord and hyper behavior after birth. I would urge you to carefully analyze your diet for ALL sources of caffeine- cola, coffee(even decaf), tea- green or black, chocolate, Mountain Dew, etc. If you have been consuming ANY of these- STOP. If not, consider removing all sources of sugar from your food plan- desserts, ice cream, sugar, corn syrup, ANY form of sugar except what is in three pieces of fruit a day- no more than 3. Give that a try and let me know how it goes. All the best- Cheri.
