Healthy Pregnancy After Tubal Ligation: A Personal Experience

Question
6 years ago, after I gave birth to my 4th child, I had a tubal ligation following my cecearian.  I've heard a lot of women have trouble with their periods and hormone levels after such procedure, but fortunately, I wasn't one of those.  My periods have been as normal as before, like clock work every 28 days.  I have always considered myself quite lucky since my first period at age 12.  The only time I have ever missed periods were when I was pregnant.  I made the decision to have a tubal after my 4th child because of the fact that my husband developed an obsession with the bottle of whiskey rather than our family.  Shortly after my daughter was born, I made a good decision by divorcing the problem, since I knew that things weren't going to change.  He was abusive toward me throughout my pregnancy and it escalated even more after her birth.  about a year later, I remarried.  I have been happily married for 5 years now, but my husband had never had children which he accepted it.  A time ago, we considered getting the tubal reversed, but the price it was going to cost to have it done was higher than our budget could handle. Over the last year I have lost approximately 90 lbs.(intentionally) and have felt more healthier than I have ever.  I am a busy college student and have been for the last 3 years.  I expect to graduate 8 months from now with my CMA degree and i'm actually under less stress than I have been.  My overall health is better than ever and i'm emotionally sound, and could never be happier.  I am absolutely living a dream come true.  Furthermore, I was due for my period the 14 th of this month, but for some reasons didn't have any signs of PMS like usual, slight aches and cramping, just sore breasts as though I have had with pregnancy.  I didn't become concerned until this this week though I've always been on time give and take a day.  It has now been 10 days past due, and still don't have the usual PMS symptoms and my breasts are still sore.  I told my husband not to get his hopes up since the chances of having an ectopic pregnancy is a high probability since I have heard and read a lot of stories of such occurances happening to those like me. Though I am aware that I could be pregnant, In your opinion what are the chances of having an ovum making it through the tube and implanting in the uterus? And if an ovum implanted in the tube somewhere, when should I have the symptoms of pain and spotting like those with ectopic pregnancies?  If this is a normal pregnancy, how often does this truely happen?  I have a lot of questions, but rather than getting my hopes up, i'm more optimistic of a negative outcome though it would be nice and a true blessing to our family.  Any advice you could offer would be greatfully appreciated.  I understand that any advice offered is only suggestive and not confirmative.  Again, Thank you.

Sincerely,
Dawn Irene Muncy

Answer
Hello,
Tubal ligations are VERY effective they rarely result in a pregnacy but it does happen from time to time.
I don't know what your beliefs are but I believe in God and I believe he creates miracles.
The best thing for you to do is take a test to find out.  If you are pregnant you need to know A.S.A.P in case it is tubal.
Good luck and Congrats on your new life.
