Intrauterine Infection & Unusual Discharge: Seeking Medical Advice
Questionhello again doctor.. i'm actually scared out of my wits..
on 8th nov i had sex.. was sick after that with chills and feeling ill. have been discharging large amounts of odourless watery greenish fluid and suddenly my whole oral mucosa becames sore and "raw". i read somewhere that such fluids as i am discharging is one of the signs of pregnancy. i haven't had my own periods for 4 years.. for past two years i was taking contraceptives on prescription with which i used to have periods, and whenever i discontinued their use i stopped mensturating again. i have bilateral ovarian cysts that have been diagnosed to NOT be because of the polycystic ovaries syndrome. i'm no longer taking contraceptives since my prescription has been changed because the use of contraceptives didn't help to reduce the cyst size. ( by the ways the cysts are app 5.5cm and app 7cm ). when i had sex i had stopped contraceptives about 14 days earlier. my new prescription tells me to take premarin (estrogens) for ten days a month.. i had just finished taking them too..
i can't afford to get pregnant and can't let anyone find out either.. i know i should have been smarter when i had sex but i made the mistake now.. i'm scared. i read about these medicines.. carbaprost (or is it spelt carboprost) and intra uterine urea and i want to know how long i should wait before i use them. can i take them before my pregnancy is confirmed?
AnswerFirst you have to take a pregnancy test to see if you are, indeed, pregnant. If you have had unprotected sex at least 14 days ago, a pregnancy test should be accurate by now. You did not ask any specific questions so I do not know what you would like to know. Once you know if you are pregnant, get back to me. If the pregnancy test is negative, you are not pregnant and should continue the medication (Estrogen) that the doctor prescribed. I do not know what your question is concerning the "intra uterine urea". I have never heard of that term.
