Severe Headaches & Migraines in Pregnancy: Causes & Relief

Question
I have never experienced such a migrane for the last two days (I
am almost 4 mos. pregnant) since a head injury from a car
accident in '93.

I'm tempted to go get a CAT scan for a possible aneurism?  Am I
over reacting or is this a symptom of pregnancy?
Thanks.

Age:35  One 4 yr. old and expecting my second. Last period
Sept. 12, 2004

Answer
Migraqine headaches can be exacerbated during pregnancy. You can try Tylenol, or  Tylenol with codeine. If these medications do not work, there is very little you can do during pregnancy, to alleviate the pain (other than palliative methods such as a darkened room, moist towel, etc). Discuss it with your Ob. I doubt that a CT scan is warranted.
