Understanding Premature Labor: Symptoms, Causes & What to Do

Question
Hello. I got pregnant at the age of 23 easily and had a wonderful uncomplicated perfect pregnancy. Well i totally planned my second pregnancy 2 and half years later, and got pregnant on second try.At 18 weeks i was awokened in the middle of the night with an awful pain like a constant contraction. It went away after about 10 min. and i blamed it on gas. It happened again when i was swiffering the floor at 21 weeks and when i woke up that morning there was a little blood on the toilet paper. I went to the hospital and they said low placenta, pelvic rest. I followed their orders but continued to cramp and bleed for the next month a half.(always went to the hospital and they said same thing)At 26 weeks water broke and was in the hospital for 2 weeks. My daughter was born at 28 weeks and i still don't how something like this could happen. Especially to someone in perfect health(don't smoke, no highblood pressure, etc., nothing)I don't think all that could happen from low placenta. Was tested for infection when my water broke-didn't have any. If you have any explanation at all or advice i would apreciate it so much. I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and things have gone perfect. Kim

Answer
Hi Kim,
sorry for the delay. Each pregnancy is different, with one being good, second bad etc.. or 3 good and 2 bad, so really no one knows why this happens, it is just something mother nature does. Did your daughter in the second pregnancy make it?
