Natural Miscarriage & Unusual Blood Odor: What to Expect

Hope you can help with an unusual question.

I am miscarrying an 8 week pregnancy naturally.  My recent U/S revealed very little tissue remained, but fluid filled sac was still intact.

Recently, I noticed that my blood has a unusual odor, not foul though.  It smells similar to semen.  My bloodwork does not indicate an infection. Could this smell be from the fluid in the sac finally breaking?  If so, should things progress more quickly now?  I really need this to be over!

Hello, I am sorry you are having to go through this.  The odor may just be things "finishing up".  It could be a developing infection also.  You don't say when you had the test in relation to the odor.
If the smell continues or worsens, give your Dr. a call.
