Managing Early Pregnancy Nausea: Baking Soda Water & Advice

Question
my wife is 7-8 weeks pregnant, she is Asian and it is our first child. she has experienced allot of nausea , on a daily basis, not all day and night ,but enough to cause allot of discomfort. we have tried the usual thing, ginger ale, etc.
my question is , "is a baking soda water mix" ok to use to help the nausea, for a pregnant woman?
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated,,
thank you

Answer
Mild nausea and vomiting of early pregnancy can usually be helped with tiny meals throughout the day, the avoidance of dairy products, fatty foods, greasy foods, and spicy foods, and crackers and ginger ale (only). If these measures do not help, Zofran 4mg every 4 hours will often help. Other remedies have not been found to be of any help. Do not use baking soda water mix. The nausea will disappear miraculously at around 15 weeks gestation.
