Fetal Movement in Pregnancy: What's Normal at 20 Weeks?
QuestionI am a 23 year old woman, my pregnancy history is taht I ahd a stillbirth last year with my first child. I am now pregnant with my second child and I am about 20 weeks pregnant. i am concerned because some days I feel only a few weak movements, they are so weak I am not even sure if they are movements and some other days they are stronger and more plentiful. Is this normal? The first day of my last period was January 21, 2005
AnswerIf your last period started on January 21, you are now 20 weeks pregnant. Normally, you do not feel fetal movement until 22 weeks for the first pregnancy, and around 20 weeks for subsequent pregnancies. At first, all you feel is gas and mild movements in your intestines. Soon you will feel kicking. Don't worry. It is still very early in the pregnancy.
