Breast Pain: Causes, Relief & When to See a Doctor

Question
I am 21 years old, no chidren, and June 28th.

I have question concerning extreme breast pain in both my breasts. I have been off birth control now for about 8 months, but was on 7 different kinds throughout 6 years of my adolescence. I have experienced breast pain for two to three months now, but it has spread to different ares on my breasts. The pain used to be on just the outside of my breasts which led me to believe I was going through more sexual maturation/growing. Now the pain has spread from the outsides to the insides, tops, bottoms, and around the nipple. It gives me headaches and is hard to wear a bra. Any idea as to what might be occurring?

Answer
I can't tell what is occurring with your breasts without actually examining them. I would suggest that you make an appointment with your gynecologist and have them evaluated for any cysts or unusual sensitivity. Try to avoid caffeine and caffeine products, until you get your exam.
