QuestionI am currently 22 years old
i have 3 beautiful children the youngest 2 born under 30 weeks due to placental abruption and prom
this is my 10th pregnancy
i have had 1 TA 5SA and 3 beautiful babies
to my knowledge lmp was aug 5 2005 however they are irregular
I had my first u/s with baby #4 (i hope) 2 days ago, I believe that i am about 5-6 weeks lmp at this point and my beta HGC lvl was 1132
The finding are as follows:
Irregularly shaped fluid collection in endometrail canal
Mean diameter of which is 1.9 cm (corresponds to gestational age of 6w 2d)
Uncertin if this respresents a true gestational sack
Very thick walled circular structure located at inferior margin of this collection
maybe a markedly thick walled yoke sac
Also possible that it is a very thick walled gestational sack with associated hematoma
No fetal pole identified
Overies normal
Small volume of free fluid within pelvis
In either senario mentioned above the appearence is very atypical and a intrauterine gestation is not identified
I did have a small amout of spotting which is why the u/s was preformed which has since completely stopped and i have no pain or cramping
I have all of this medical information but absolutley no idea what it means
and i can't seem to find any relevent information anywhere online
My OB is out of town for the next week and i am completely FREAKING OUT
Thank you in advance
Laura
AnswerIf your last period started on August 5, then you would have ovulated around August 18 and could have conceived if you had sex on August 17,18,19, or 20. You would now only be 5 weeks 2 days pregnant. A sonogram at 5-6 weeks will not show a fetus but only a hint of a gestational sac. After 6 weeks, a sonogram will show a fetus and a fetal heartbeat. I would recommend that you get a repeat sonogram in two weeks and you will get a better picture of what is going on. It is common to have a small amount of spotting in early pregnancy. However, with your history, I would be vigilant. There is nothing else to do at this time. If you start bleeding heavily with cramps, call the doctor. If there is no further bleeding, all may be fine.
